Casual Games Designer - AAA Next-Gen Gaming Co.

CASUAL GAMES DESIGNER
A star studded MMO company in the Bay Area is looking to add a Casual Game Designer to their team.
Recently founded in San Mateo, CA, they have inked deals with major publishers giving them projects well into 2010. They are committed to bring current and new high-quality entertainment products to market. The company is comprised of game industry leaders who have been the heart and soul of creating many critically-acclaimed games worldwide.
In the last ten years, the leadership of the studio has shipped numerous top-ten selling games in both the PC and console markets. Their decades of collective experience anchor their firm desire to create not only products that will be financially successful, but also titles that they, themselves, would like to play given the free time to do so. They seek not publicity, or nor undue credit, but simply the sheer joy of delivering the Holy Grail of components in our games: Creativity, Quality, Challenge, and above all, the elusive high Fun Factor.
Responsibilities:
- Design and balance casual games and/or mini-games within a cohesive online game
- Help create and balance game systems
- Reports to Lead Designer on the Project
Requirements:
- 3+ years of casual game design; must show examples of work
- Understanding of Massively Multiplayer Online games and communities
- Credits on two shipped game titles
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Proficient with Scripting Languages; must show examples.
- Works full time on-premises at our location in San Mateo, California
- Team player with sustained positive and professional attitude
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Able to communicate effectively with the development team both in written and in spoken English
Desirable but Optional Qualities:
- Experience with design and implementation of some or all: MMO based games, Casual Games, Side Scrolling Platform style games.
- Proficiency with some or all of: JIRA; Microsoft Project; Microsoft Office; MSN Messenger; VMWare
- Able to read and write the Korean language
